The many adventures of the Queen Mary

On September 26th 1934 the Queen Mary was launched and its maiden voyage took place on May 27th 1936. During the war the Queen Mary did its part by contributing to the wartime service. During its stint as a wartime ship, the Queen Mary carried 765,429 military personnel sailing a total of 569,429 miles. It could carry up to 15,000 troops at a time. The jobs the Queen Mary fulfilled ranged from transporting wounded back to the United States to carrying war brides and children. In 1947 the Queen Mary went back to its regular passenger service and retired from passenger service in 1967 after 1,001 transatlantic voyages. On December 11th 1967 the Queen Mary was officially removed from the British registry and turned over to the city of Long Beach.

Be prepared for anything

For the brave hearted among you LAX parking patrons, you will enjoy the ghosts and legends part of the Queen Mary experience, which is included in your general admission passport. It has been speculated that ghosts live onboard of the Queen Mary and many odd occurrences have taken place. Passengers to the Queen Mary often see the unexplainable leaving many questions unanswered. Why are there wet footprints aboard when there is not any water in the pool....and there has not been any for more than 30 years? Prepare for the unexplainable LAX parking customers and don't let your imaginations run away with you!

Hungry...not a problem

Although the stories of ghosts onboard with you may frighten you a little, never fear going hungry about the Queen Mary. Whether you are craving a sandwich or seafood, the many restaurants of the Queen Mary are standing by to fulfill your cravings. Most of the restaurants on the ship have extended hours beyond that of the ship itself, so be sure to check this out on your travels throughout the Queen Mary. You might even want to take part in the Ghost and Dinner Tour the ship offers. For $109 per person you will receive dinner, a tour and your taxes, gratuities and parking fees are also included in that price. The Queen Mary also has dinner entertainment and dancing on select occasions that are always another fun way to take part LAX parking customers.

Romance fulfilled

Romance comes alive on the Queen Mary making it an ideal place for you to say "I Do". You can chose from having your ceremony either in their Wedding Chapel or you might also chose to get married on the Sun Deck Stage which overlooks the Pacific. Your reception can also take place aboard the ship and you can be confident that the superb chefs aboard the Queen Mary will create for you and your guests and magnificent wedding feast not soon to be forgotten.

The Queen Mary is an excellent choice for an addition to your vacation LAX parking customers. The ship's hours are 10am-6pm every day of the week. The general admission passport is $22.95 for adults, $11.95 for children (5-11) and $19.95 for seniors. The general admission passport includes the ghosts and legends tour as well as a self guided tour of the ship. If you wish to see specific exhibits such as the Marilyn Monroe exhibit or the Titanic exhibit, passports that include these exhibits can be purchased for an additional price. The Queen Mary will not fail to astound you in every way.
