Sunset Boulevard, one of the world's most famous streets, functions as a link between two very different California communities. From the gritty, urban streets of downtown Hollywood, to the lush, residential avenues of Beverly Hills, Sunset Boulevard provides travelers with an in-your-face look at Tinseltown life. Designed as a long, winding thoroughfare, Sunset Boulevard begins in downtown Los Angeles and runs westward for more than 20 miles until it hits the Pacific. Along the way, Sunset Boulevard passes some of the entertainment industry's most prominent studios and attractions. The Boulevard eventually turns into the Sunset Strip once it hits West Hollywood, weaving its way past multi-million dollars estates in Beverly Hills and Bel-Air. Over the course of 20 miles, the Boulevard undergoes a number of radical transformations, but one thing remains true - you can never overlook this Sunset.

The Sights of Sunset Boulevard

If you're interested in seeing some of the finest sights in Southern California, Johnny Parks LAX parking highly recommends taking a leisurely drive down Sunset Boulevard. Dozens of exciting attractions are located along this legendary street, including the following:

  • Television Studios: A number of nationally and internationally recognizable television studios are currently based along the Sunset Strip. These include the Fox Network/KTTV Studios, the KTLA Studios and the KCET Studios. The Sunset Gower Studio is also located here inside the original Columbia Pictures Studio.
  • Shopping Centers: LAX parking customers are encouraged to stop in at any one of the numerous shopping centers located along the Boulevard. These include the Western-themed Gower Gulch and the Crossroads of the World Center.
  • Movie Studios: Sunset Boulevard would be nothing without its collection of high-grossing movie studios. Top studios located along the street include the historic Paramount Studios and the former Charlie Chaplin Studios.
  • Hotels: Do you crazy luxury? Then why not reserve a room at one of the outstanding hotels located along Sunset Boulevard? From the legendary Hotel Bel-Air to the "Pink Palace" Beverly Hills Hotel, the customers of Johnny Parks LAX Parking are sure to find the perfect home-away-from-home.
  • Parks: If you're looking to stretch your legs after a long day in the car, Johnny Parks LAX Parking recommends visiting one of Sunset Boulevard's beautiful park areas. Activities including paying your respects to fallen Hollywood heroes at the Hollywood Memorial Park cemetery and basking in the sunshine at Will Rogers Memorial.
  • Restaurants: If hunger pains are hampering your Sunset sightseeing adventure, don't worry. There are plenty of great restaurants located along the Boulevard. True rock fans are encouraged to hit up the Denny's at 7373 Sunset for all night munchies. Peter Frampton, Blondie, Van Halen and even the Go Go's are rumored to have eaten here after a night of Hollywood partying.
  • Hangouts and Hotspots: Other exciting attractions along Sunset Boulevard include the famous Hollywood High School (alumni include Judy Garland, Elvis Presley and Carol Burnett), the Designer Donuts hangout and the Hollywood Palladium dance club.

No trip to Los Angeles would be complete without a drive down this prominent Hollywood roadway. And don't forget - as you pass Crescent Heights you will be entering the city of West Hollywood and an all new section of Sunset Boulevard. This area, which is referred to simply as "The Strip", features an entirely separate collection of attractions, so remember to check it out. A number of local companies currently offer guided tours of Sunset Boulevard as well, so don't be afraid to call and book a spot on one today. Sunset Boulevard is proud to be the center of excitement in Hollywood, so don't miss your chance to check it out. Plan a Sunset trip with your LAX parking crew today.
